Small Adjustment Measurement Guide
If you don't have a tailor's measuring tape, use a long piece of string or a long ribbon to measure around your body, make a mark or a knot, and then measure the length you used with your straight ruler.
Bust
The bust measurement is taken across the nipples and level around the back. You do not need to add extra room. You should take the measurement snug to the body with just enough room for you to breath normally.
Underbust
The underbust measurement is taken around the ribcage, just below the pectoral muscle or the breasts if you have them. This measurement should be taken fairly snug against the body. If you have breasts, you should take this measurement tightly around the body to avoid clothes from riding up.
Waist
The waist measurement we use is what is called the natural waist, which is a high waist. For most people is is the narrowest part of your body, just a little bit below the rib cage. It should be at your navel or slightly above your navel.
Even if you wear your clothes on a lower waist, we still need the natural waist measurement. This should be taken gently around the body, without tightening.
If you like to wear your clothes low on the waist, you can always send us your "dropwaist" measurement, which you should take 4 inches (10 cm) below the navel.
Hips
The hips measurement is taken around the widest part of your hips. For most people, that is usually across the middle of the buttocks. For some body types, the widest part might be a little bit above or below the middle of the buttocks. This measurement should be taken snugly around the body.
Thigh
The thigh measurement is taken around one thigh at the widest part of the leg. This is usually about 2 inches (5cm) below the crotch. This measurement should be taken snugly around the leg.
