To avoid the thick velvet taking up too much room in your slinkiest shoes, these only have a half foot, meaning they are cut off at the toes and have an open heel.
These are traditional thigh highs, meaning that they are meant to be worn with a garter belt or other pieces of clothing equipped with garter straps. They do NOT stay up on their own.
