Our Story

Lygophilim is a tiny brand. We started in 2016 with just 2 rolls of fabric and a sewing machine set up in the dining room. After getting some pretty great feedback on our trial line on Etsy, we knew we were on to something and doubled our efforts to grow into a full-fledged brand. We were founded as a slow fashion brand and this philosophy is still at the top of our priorities. Our designs are conceived, planned and produced right here in our lovely province of Quebec. Most of our pieces are made one at a time, as they are ordered.

We know from personal experience how certain styles can be hard to find in a wide variety of sizes. For those of us that have a body shape that is more or less curvy than standard clothing sizes, or those that are very short or very tall, for those that have non-traditional proportions, or fashion tastes that don’t align with gender norms, finding the styles we like in a cut that fits can be a headache.

This is why we’ve decided to offer not only a wide range in our standard sizes, but also other affordable options to accommodate pretty much every body type under the moon! We hope our size customization options will help you get a great fit no matter what.

We strive to make the world a better place and truly believe that every piece in your closet should be loved and well-made enough to keep and wear for multiple years. We think it’s worth paying a bit more for a piece that was made ethically and with quality materials. This is why we will never use large manufacturing plants that are halfway across the world. We know every single person that works on our products personally, and we only work with small, local, independent workshops, which also reduces our carbon footprint!
